2008 MWGA Annual Meeting & Spring Scramble
Saturday May 10 By Sonia Pysh-Denison
Golf season will be here before you know it, so brush the dust off your bag and shoes if you haven’t used them in a while and get set for our first event of the year. The 2008 Annual Meeting and Spring Scramble will held on May 10th at the Golden Fox in Plymouth. Bring your friends, recruit the non-members, and let them hear about our wonderful organization at the Annual Meeting, not to mention golf at a great course.
The Annual Meeting will include lunch for everyone. At the meeting you will hear about our 2008 MWGA activities, meet the board members, shop for bargains and make plans with your friends for this year’s tournaments! We will also be announcing the Player of the Year (POY), Golfer of the Year (GOY) and Most Improved Player for 2007. For those who do not want to golf, lunch and the meeting will be available for $20.00 each.
Directly after the meeting we will play a 4-Woman Scramble. This is a great time to bring some friends to play with you and experience what an MWGA tournament is all about. Guests may enter at member rates: The Annual Meeting and Spring Scramble will be $89.00 for members and non-members alike. This will include the meeting, lunch, golf, cart, range balls, and prizes.
Registration forms will be available on the MWGA website at www.mwgolf.org and in the membership packages which will be sent by April 15th. All registration forms should be sent to:
MWGA
Tournament Office
The day will begin at 10:00am starting with the Vendor/Swap meet. The meeting and lunch will start at 11:30 am and golf at 1:30 pm - shotgun start. If you have any questions, please contact me at Pysh-Denison@MWGolf.org or at 586-212-6639. I look forward to seeing you all at Golden Fox in May.

Opening Day Swap Meet… It’s All About the Bargain! By Inez M. Bridges
Swap, sell, bargain, barter, bandy or trade. Whichever term you prefer, we will do it at the MWGA Swap Meet at this year’s Annual Meeting and Scramble at Fox Hills on Saturday, May 10th. The theme is “Swap”, but vendors and hobbyists with merchandise to sell are welcome. After all, it is an exchange of articles, hobbies or handicrafts. If you have a product or handicraft to sell, bring it. This will be the day to pass along those stored away items you will probably never use or just forgot about. Give them the chance for a new life and home. This is a timely venue for those last minute Mother’s Day gifts.
Items may be golf-related or not, gently used or antiques or brand-new in the box. Whatever you think might be of interest to someone else, bring it. “One woman’s junk is another woman’s treasure.” (I just made up that adage.) Why fuss with E-Bay when you can sell them instantly. Of course, you can always add in the “bid” factor for excitement. This will increase your profits and also your contribution to the Rhonda Walker Foundation, the MWGA charity select. We will hold a second golf instruction clinic for the girls this year on Belle Isle. Giving back is so much fun!
We’ll set up tables for display of the merchandise, so for planning purposes, please let me know if you would like to participate, or if you have questions or suggestions. Make your own price signs, cards or bid sheets that include your name. The manner in which you conduct your merchandising is strictly up to you. Registration begins at 10:30 am, and the luncheon/meeting starts at 11:30, so please plan to arrive earlier to set up your items for sale prior to the meeting, during lunch and after golf.
Contact me, Inez Bridges at 248-552-9328 (H), 248-890-4461 (C), or email me at bridges@mwgolf.org. Thank you for your continued support of these MWGA activities. Let’s have some fun on Saturday, May 10th. |
