MWGA 20th Anniversary
 “Celebration” Dinner
Sunday, July 30
Washtenaw Country Club

Joyce Kazmierski

The evening’s keynote speaker was Joyce Kazmierski, a former LPGA tournament player.  Joyce currently promotes golf through recreation and education as a teaching professional at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Indiana.  She plans to briefly speak about the history of women in the game of golf – a welcome topic since we hear so much about the renowned men golfers.

As part of our celebration, memorabilia from our first 20 years was on display.  Also, some of our very own MWGA “gang” performed a short skit – definitely pertaining to the topic of golf.

To top off the evening, MWGA presented a check to the Rhonda Walker Foundation.

A portion of the proceeds from MWGA’s July 31 20th Anniversary $4,000 4-Woman Scramble was donated to the Foundation.  Rhonda Walker (Channel 4 Morning News) will accept the check for the Foundation’s Girls into Women program.  The Foundation targets at-risk girls in grades 7 through 12.  Their goal is to empower inner city teen girls to become strong, successful and moral future leaders.

Our toastmistress Janina Jacobs lead us through a fun and uplifting evening.
