MWGA 20th Anniversary $4,000 4-Woman Scramble Monday, July 31 Washtenaw Country Club

To celebrate the MWGA 20^th Anniversary, we are having what we do best and is most popular with our members – a big scrambles. There will be four $1000 team prizes – one for Low gross and Low Net in two divisions. In addition, we will have four Hole-in-One Contests -  the longest Par 3 for $20,000, and the others for a 7 Day Cruise, a Set of Golf Clubs, and Golf Shop Credit. Plus we will be supporting the Rhonda Walker Foundation and the “Girls to Women” program, which is dedicated to empowering inner city teen girls towards becoming strong, confident, successful and moral future leaders. This is your chance to have a great time, win some big bucks, and support a worthy cause.

  Washtenaw Country Club in the Ann Arbor area is hosting the scrambles on Monday, July 31^st. Washtenaw Country Club is a familiar and popular site to our members and guests as they have hosted several MWGA scrambles and US WAPL Sectionals in the past four years. The golf course is beautiful and always in impeccable condition and plays to 5712 yds with slick, undulating greens - perfect for a scrambles! The clubhouse is lovely and the food is always delicious and elegantly served.

  Now for the details…. The standard MWGA format and eligibility requirements will be in effect. Teams will consist of 4 amateur women golfers, who have a USGA/GAM current Handicap Index or will play at scratch. Handicap Indexes will be confirmed by the Committee. The Team Handicap will be determined by using 20% of the lowest index, 15% of the second lowest, 10% of the third lowest and 5% of the highest. Teams will be divided into two divisions determined by team handicap. MWGA Scrambles Rules and modified USGA Rules will be in effect meaning conforming balls and clubs must be used and legal range finders are acceptable. Three drives must be used from all team members. Soft spikes must be worn and the MWGA dress code is in effect. There will be hole monitors on all 18 holes to assure correct team scores and to assist with the Hole-In-One Contests. There will also be a long drive contest by handicap for prizes. A 50/50 drawing will be included with 50% going to the Rhonda Walker Foundation.

  The scrambles will have a  9:00 A.M. shotgun start. The $125.00 per player ($500 per team) fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range, continental breakfast, lunch, gifts, and awards ceremony. A check will be presented to the Rhonda Walker Foundation. This is a great price for a fun day at a beautiful private club for a good cause. For those attending the MWGA 20^th Anniversary Dinner at Washtenaw Country Club on Sunday evening July 30^th, hotel and room rate information in the Ann Arbor area will be included in the player’s confirmation letter, which will be sent shortly after the deadline date.
